eLearning Example: Boundaries in the Library

Project Overview

Naomi, a library employee, struggles with setting and enforcing boundaries with patrons. In this course, learners help Naomi build confidence setting boundaries professionally with library users. Hop into the stacks with Naomi as she encounters patrons and observes other staff and patrons in:

• A tabs interaction mocked up like a library book that covers what boundaries are and why they are important

• A self-assessment using sliders where learners rate their confidence interacting with challenging patrons

• Inclusion of PowerPoint cartoon people with a wide variety of facial expressions and other traits

• Scenario-based interactions that allow the learner to reflect on how boundaries were set by the library employee within each scenario

• A final scenario-based interaction where Naomi is put to the test establishing boundaries with challenging patrons; the learner selects the best responses via drag-and-drop interactions
