Feedback on My First Articulate Storyline Project!

Hello all,Β

I am really appreciative of being part of this community! I've got some questions answered and received feedback on a few prototypes. I know I can't move into the field of eLearning and instructional design by myself! IΒ  recently finished building my first eLearning project using Articulate Storyline 360, and it's a small course on "How to Make Taiwanese Beef Noodles." I would love to hear your feedback if you have a moment to take a look at it: https://360.articulate.com/review/content/2c875874-dabb-4d1f-b73f-23e184e8ea3d/review

I enjoyed working on this project and am planning to include it in my portfolio. However, I worry that other than click-and-reveal interactions, I didn't demonstrate more advanced skills with the authoring tool. Is that something I should be worried about? Anyway, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this project. Thank you, everyone!Β

Organizational Development and ID

Hello everyone! Not sure if this is the right place to post a question like this but I'd love to hear what you think. These days I am doing some research on potential ID jobs in the area I am hoping to relocate to next year (Sacramento, CA--so I can be close to my family) but there aren't too many. I tried different keywords other than ID such as "training" and "L&D," and quite a few job ads regardingΒ  "organizational development specialist" popped up. Has anyone here worked in organizational development before? How is the skill set of instructional design related to that of organizational development? Do/ Can IDs also work as organizational development specialists, given both jobs seem to entail performance consulting? Would love to hear your perspectives and advice--thank you!!

Hello! and Transitioning from Higher Ed

Hello everyone! My name is Yi-Ting Chang and I'm very happy to join this community! I am currently a PhD student in English and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and am looking to transition from academia to the field of instructional design. I love teaching and learning from my students; to be honest, I feel a bit sad that this coming year will be my final year of teaching. I care about issues such as accessibility, distribution of resources and information, and creating an empathetic learning environment. Though I'm still processing the emotional weight of leaving academia, I am also excited to move on and continue to grow my passion for learning, training, and education in the field of ID. I only learned about ID a few months ago and have been amazed by how supportive people in this community are. I look forward to learning with you all and offering ideas/feedback whenever I can. Please feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/yi-ting-chang92/
